The Future

In addition to collecting copies of photographs and documents from schools, we encourage individuals, churches, businesses, and all city organizations to consider allowing the GRHC to scan and photograph items from their collections and archives to enrich the city's history in a way that has not been possible in the past. 

The subjects of our photo essays are determined by the photos and documents you offer to be scanned and photographed. Sometimes they are supplemented with images from photo collections at the GR Public Library, the Community Archives and Research Center, and the Public Museum of GR. The more images we have the more photo essays we can build in the Explore section where social and historical themes about the people and the city of Grand Rapids can be investigated.
